WBO #1 and WBA #7 light heavyweight Dominic Boesel (22-0, 8 KOs), closing in on a world title shot, will return September 17 against an opponent to be named at the Stadthalle in Weissenfels, Germany. Boesel will be defending his WBO and WBA Intercontinental belts. In the co-feature, German welterweight champion Felix Lamm (12-1-1, 5 KOs) will see action. The card was announced this week at a kickoff press conference.

Dominic Boesel: “In the last three years I have matured and grown as a boxer. Boxing again in the vicinity of my hometown Freyburg is great because my fan base has grown enormously in the past three years. Anyone can come who wants to. I’ll take on anyone! I hope soon to get a world title shot!”

SES Trainer Dirk Dzemski: “Dominic has undergone the development that we expected from him. He has enormously increased his physical strength and his technically high-class boxing has expanded! Now we all hope that the biggest challenge, the world title shot, won’t be long in coming!”

SES promoter Ulf Steinforth: “In retrospect, after three-years we can say with pride that “Team Germany” is a great success. When we presented the team three years ago here at this same place, no one could assume that out of the six fighters, three would have titles. Besides Dominic Boesel and Felix Lamm, who both have developed among the finest boxing styles, we have Tom Schwarz, the Youth heavyweight world champion. This is good for German boxing! Here in Weissenfels, we’re holding the ‘Boesel Festival.’ Dominic Boesel has his world ranking at risk and is targeted. And I predict that the arena will be sold out!”

Robert Stieglitz in the fight against the “spirit” Sergey Khomitsky for the WBO Inter-Continental title, and on the way to reclaiming the world title.

Former world champion Robert Stieglitz fight for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental belt at super middleweight. His opponent in this title fight is a “spirit”. This battle name carries Sergey “The Ghost” Khomitsky (29-10-2 (12)), who secured a good two months the belt of WBO European champion in England with a knockout in the sixth round against unbeaten British Frank Buglioni. Robert Stieglitz is therefore warned that the experienced Belarusian Khomitsky has become so advanced to the position 7 of the WBO world rankings. This opponent will address “The World Cup project!” Robert Stieglitz his mission. It applies to Robert Stieglitz , now as soon as possible the position 1 of the WBO world rankings to occupy. The implicit goals: as the mandatory challenger of the reigning world champions again to fight “his” WBO world champion belt. But the “spirit” Khomitsky must first be defeated!

The new challenge for double world champion Christina Hammer : in the new weight class junior middleweight she meets in the fight for the WBO world title equal to “high-caliber” Anne Sophie Mathis.

The double world champion at middleweight Christina Hammer (17-0-0 (8)) which, after a trip to Super Middleweight in this second weight class secured the WBO-/WBF-Welterweight title in 2013, now faces a new major challenge. With the “descent” into the next lighter weight class and the immediate invasion of the WBO world title in the junior middleweight the exceptional boxer Christina Hammer goes from Dortmund in a boxing unusual and almost unique way. And, it makes it not easy. With the multiple world and European champion Anne Sophie Mathis (27-3-0 (23) from France, she has in this “new mission” is equal to one of the strongest boxers in the world as an opponent! With her co-record of 23 KOs in 27 victorious battles, the French Mathis, the latest in their home after their fights against the American Holly Holm is a “boxing legend” is a huge challenge!

SES Boxing held the final press conference on Monday for Saturday’s clash between two-time world champion Robert Stieglitz against WBO #9 Sergey “The Ghost” Khomitsky (29-10-2, 12 KOs) at the Anhalt Arena in Dessau, Germany. The presser took place in front of an old transport aircraft named JU 52 at the “Hugo Junkers Museum”

Robert Stieglitz: “I am forewarned. A ghost always comes surprisingly and unexpectedly. I’ve prepared myself for the fighting style Khomitsky so I’m safe. He can’t scare me. Khomitsky is good for surprises, well rested and he boxes smart. His victory for the WBO European championship against Buglioni in England was no coincidence. One may never, ever underestimate him. He is a daredevil! If I want to get back “my belt,” then the only possible way is with a clear victory over this “ghost!”

Sergey Khomitsky: I’m something of a fear maker! That’s where my fight name ‘The Ghost’ comes from. I make pressure, move forward, makes surprises and many opponents can’t adjust. I know Stieglitz from many fights I watched myself. He will be defeated!

SES promoter Ulf Steinforth: We want the WBO world title of Abraham as quickly as possible! Khomitsky was the highest rated fighter who would face Robert. A WBO European champion must not and will not be underestimated!

In other action, WBO #8 rated light heavyweight Dominic Boesel (15-0, 5 KOs) will take on Daniel Regi (22-9, 11 KOs), former light heavyweight world title challenger and WBO #3/WBA #7 rated Robin Krasniqi (41-3, 16 KOs) meets WBA #8/WBO #15 Oleksandr Cherviak (14-3-1, 4 KOs) and female middleweight champion Christina Hammer (17-0, 8 KOs) moves down to jr middleweight to take on the very dangerous multiple world and European champion Anne Sophie Mathis (27-3, 23 KOs).

WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (46-3, 26 KOs) and former champion Arthur Abraham (38-4, 28 KOs) will complete their trilogy on Saturday night at the GETEC Arena in Magdeburg, Germany. The series is 1:1 so far, with Abraham winning by decision in Berlin in August 2012 and Stieglitz winning by fourth round TKO in March 2013 in Magdeburg. SES outbid Sauerland Event to bring the rubber match back to Stieglitz’ backyard.

Today’s press conference took place in Magdeburg’s Cultural History Museum.

Robert Stieglitz: I am delighted that the press conference is again here in the Cultural History Museum. That gave me luck the last time and that’s exactly how it should be again. Saturday will be a real collision in the ring. Outside the ring I’m relaxed, because I’m here at home and Arthur is coming into the lion’s den. I will defend my title successfully and not give in.

Arthur Abraham: The previous fights are in the past, we are very well prepared and promise an exciting fight the fans will like. I have many fans here backing me. I don’t feel like I’m in a lion’s den. but rather in the cave of the cat. No matter where I’m boxing, I feel at home. It’s all or nothing! There’s nothing more important!

SES trainer Dirk Dzemski: We have a good plan. The question is, who can implement their tactics best. And I’m sure that’s Robert. The difference is our great team.

Abraham trainer Ulli Wegner: I think we all can do something great on Saturday. If it’s named as “Fight of the Year”, that’s fine. I feel terrific in Magdeburg, since the public is so knowledgable. Both camps are very well prepared. This fight is what makes boxing so interesting.

SES promoter Ulf Steinforth: Robert and Dirk Dzemski were a team for the first two sensational fights. The third fight had to take place here, because we have been successful here. It’s important to me because I’m superstitious and it has always worked so far. This third fight is super exciting. We have all the support we have always wanted, which is virtually an unbeatable advantage. This is also about the rivalry of the trainers, experience against youth, and it’s a battle of the promoters. But, here in Magdeburg we’re good hosts!

Sauerland Event promoter Kalle Sauerland: We look forward to a great fight. You only have to look at the first two fights. Trilogies are better than rematches. It’s “Champions League” boxing. We know what to do and look forward to being his guest.

Robert Stieglitz and Arthur Abraham will be sufficiently compensated for their efforts to help break the tie in their in-ring rivalry.

A recent purse bid was won by Sport Event Steinforth (SES), Stieglitz’ promoter to earn the right to promote the ordered super middleweight title fight. With a bid of more than $3.1 millon USD, SES will serve as lead promoter for the rubber match, which is scheduled to take place March 1 in Stieglitz’ hometown of Magdeburg, Germany.

The next highest bidder was Abraham’s promoter, Sauerland Event who offered a generous $1.5 million in hopes of gaining promotional control. Results of the purse bid were revealed through Sauerland Event’s Twitter feed.

“Another crazy purse bid today!! Abraham v Stieglitz. We bid USD 1.5m, SES bid more than double!! Congrats and thank you very much,” Kalle Sauerland tweeted on Sunday.

The bid amount translates to a career-high payday for Stieglitz (46-3, 26KO), who is guaranteed $2.3 million for the third defense of the super middleweight belt he won earlier this year. Abraham’s guaranteed amount comes out to roughly $800,000.

Both fighters have claime a win over the other in their respective hometowns, which for the moment favors Stieglitz heading into the potential tiebreaker. Abraham scored a career-resurrecting 12-round points win last August in his adopted hometown of Berlin, ending Stieglitz’ three-year stay as a super middleweight titlist, while himself becoming a two-division champ.

His stay near the top of the mountain wasn’t very long. Just one defense was managed by Abraham (38-4, 28KO) made one title defense before returning the favor of defending the title on the road, agreeing to face Stieglitz in Magdeburg for the rematch. Stieglitz delivered a career best performance, delivering a genuinely shocking moment for the 2013 boxing season in destroying Abraham after just three full rounds of action.

Stieglitz has since enjoyed two title defenses amidst a current four-fight win streak.

Abraham enters what could possibly serve as his last-ever title shot having won two straight. The 33-year old is 6-1 overall in life beyond the Super Six tourmanent, which – while financially beneficial – nearly ruined his career, suffering three of his four career losses over the course of the extended round robin tournament.

“I’m glad twice: First, I can finally take action in the competition events, and secondly I’m boxing in the capital of Brandenburg. It’s like a home game and a tribute to my fans,” said WBO, WIBF and WBF super featherweight female world champion Ramona Kuehne (19-1, 6 KOs) on the date for her next title defense. On Saturday, March 2, Ramona climbs the into the ring to defend her belts in the MBS arena of Potsdam, Germany.

For one year, the 31-year-old champion couldn’t contest a fight. Most recently, she stopped Renata Domsodi in the 8th Round in Offenburg back in January 2012. In May 2012 the native Berliner was operated on for a cruciate ligament tear in the knee. After the successful rehabilitation phase Kuehne could re-enter rehab training last summer. Now the world champion is preparing for the title fight in Potsdam.

“After such a long break I’m on fire for the duel, but I’m also curious to see the affect of my time out of boxing,” said Kuehne. In any case, the boxer comes to a difficult task. Her opponent will be Halanna Dos Santos (14-4, 9 KOs) from Brazil. The South American super featherweight activist punched within her career twice for world champion honors. She has title fight experience and for the weight class a unusually high knockout rate. Halanna Dos Santos is primarily known because of her offensive style as she applies permanent pressure. “I’m preparing tactically well for the Brazilian. In the ring, I will determine the fight and I do not leave the scepter to her,” commented Ramona.

ramonakuehne400

That the world title fight comes to Potsdam is a the initiative of Prime Minister Matthias Platzek. Brandenburg’s Prime Minister had addressed Axel Schulz on the edge of Parkinson’s gala last year, if he could be committed to bring an international boxing evebt to Potsdam. “I was on fire with the idea and then I put together the right people,” said Schulz. Ramona, who was also at the gala was absolutely thrilled. The idea now has become a reality and Axel Schulz has delivered on his promises. Even more: “With my agency, iSchulz, we have already sold 1,000 tickets. We want to make the MBS arena to a witch’s cauldron,” stated the German heavyweight legend.

Promoter Ulf Steinforth plans more attractive professional duels in Potsdam in addition to the top women’s fight. “We will give the fans an exciting boxing evening. We want to bring one or two more title fights to Potsdam,” assured Steinforth. For the Magdeburg professional boxing stable, the fight in Potsdam a premiere. “We are pleased that our Brandenburg champion here have a real workhorse. And we want to bring world-class boxing to Potsdam.”

Direct quotes from the press conference

Ramona Kühne: “Of course, the injury was a major setback and long break also! Everyone is always talking of the toughest preparation in advance for a fight, only in my case it was worth the hardest preparation, through I had to do. But I stand on this hardness, these challenges in training. Now everything is positive and I am super glad to boxing here in Potsdam. To my opponent, I will not say too much: She must get along with me and I’m not with her! Halanna Dos Santos is bigger than me and that I normally lies. You want the belt, but I will not let them ran! A word about Graciano: in construction training, he was an incredibly good motivator, has built me up with his great tips – and by the way I’m going to introduce them to him even further the women’s boxing.”

Coach Stephan Kühne: “If an athlete is having such a violation for 4 weeks taken completely out of the movement, then the start, as with almost zero. After 3 to 4 months of rehab and now rehabilitation training, but we are now looking for a lot of work back to the usual level. We will now complete a great deal sparring, which is after the break for the ring feeling very, very necessary.”

SES Promoter Ulf Steinforth: “Ramona was particularly an end to this long period of rehabilitation is now complete. Compliment to their great endurance. Now it is also particularly pleased that she can make her dream true, as here to fight in the city of Potsdam. Potsdam is so traditionally a city of sports and so much open for this first professional boxing event in this city. We have a great hall, the Congress Hotel Potsdam offers the best conditions. 1000 tickets have been sold already. Thanks also to Axel Schulz, who is responsible with that we can organize and continue his part, that helps these SES gala to will be a success for sure!”

A deal has been finalized for Arthur Abraham (34-3, 27KOs) to challenge WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (42-2, 23KOs) on August 25 at O2 World in Berlin, Germany. The two boxers met face to face at press conference to announce the fight. An army of reporters and photographers turned out to catch the action.

“I’m happy that this fight will take place at o2 World. I was hoping for another chance to show my skills in this incredible arena in front of as many fans as possible. I am looking forward to entertain them again, like I did back in 2009 with my last round knockout against Jermain Taylor,” said Arthur Abraham.

Robert Stieglitz is not fazed at all with the outlook of fighting in Abraham’s backyard: “That’s my belt and we are going to battle for it – in the end it will still be mine. I will prove that my championship is legitimate, no matter of the opposition, time or place.”

K2 Promotions of Klitschko brothers in associations with SES-Boxing of Ulf Steinforth begin the new season of boxing in Ukraine! WBO junior middleweight champion Zaurbek Baysangurov (26-1, 20 KOs) will defend his title in a match with Lukas Konecny (47-3, 22 KOs) on the 10th of March 10 in the Terminal Ice Palace, Brovary. The boxing event will be presented by Khortytsa TM and Inter Media Group.

The fight promises to be an intriguing encounter, as the ring will be shared by two strongest representatives of the junior middleweight division. Baysangurov and Konecny have not lost since 2008.

26-years old Chechen Baysangurov of K2 Promotions debuted in professional ranks in 2004 and very soon gained the reputation of one of the hottest prospects in the division. The real triumph for Baysangurov became his victory over Mexican puncher Marco Antonio Rubio in 2006 in Kyiv. In 2007 Zaurbek won the European title and defended it two times. But in December 2008 young Chechen stumbled one step from world championship fight when lost by technical knockout to Cornelius Bundrage of United States. Shortly after defeat Zaur came back to the ring and scored seven consecutive victories, six of them by knockout, defeating such strong opponents as Eromosele Albert and Richard Gutierrez. In summer 2011 in Odessa, Ukraine, Baysangurov won interim WBO junior middleweight title with a quick victory in the first round over Brazilian Mike Miranda.

Last fall WBO junior middleweight champion at the time Sergiy Dzinziruk was stripped of the title, as he has not fight in his division since May 2010 and due to the injury was forced to withdraw from the mandatory defense against Lukas Konecny. According to the decision of WBO Baysangurov was given the status of world champion in this weight, and was obligated to meet Lukas Konecny in his next fight.

For the past six years 33-years old Konecny belongs to the elite of the junior middleweights and because of his achievements is the best fighter in the Czech boxing history regardless of weight categories. In 2008 Konecny fought for WBO world title against Sergiy Dzinziruk and lost by controversial majority decision. Since then, the Czech scored eleven wins in eleven battles, including winning the European belt and two successful defenses of this title.

In the undercard boxing fans will be able to see another title fight when WBO and WBF middleweight champion Christine Hammer (11-0, 7 KOs) will defend her belts against Quinn Shabalaly (4-1-1, 1 KO) of South Africa.

К2 Promotions kicks off the new boxing year with the new partner! Since February 2012 Khortytsa TM – the absolute quality is the official partner of the boxing events promoted by Klitschko brothers’ promotional company in Ukraine.

Bosco Ukraine is a sports partner of the show!

Ukrainian channel Inter will televise, starting at 11:05 PM.

Maritim Hotel, Magdeburg, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany – In a fierce battle, up-and-coming WBO #6 light heavyweight Robin Krasniqi improved to 37-2, with 13 KOs, after a spirited twelfth-round TKO over dуtermined Frenchman Hakim Zoulikha (16-3, 8 KOs).

This fight was very much different than the previous encounter thanks to the will and determination of the challenger. Zoulikha, 25, and the smaller of the two, tried to find his luck on the inside. The Frenchman lacked quality punching power but was very active in winging wild hooks and swings to scare the lanky Albanian. Krasniqi, his real name being Haxhi, used some elements of rope-a-dope tactics alongside constant lateral movement and uppercuts on the inside. The first couple of rounds was rather even but in the third and in the fourth stanzas Krasniqi reached some success with his jabs and uppercuts to trouble Zoulikha a bit.

Rounds five and six turned into a crowd-pleasing war with both fighters swinging wildly in order to deliver one meaningful punch. It soon became obvious that the close quarters favored the French brawler over the German boxer, both fighters landing bombs in a sensational sixth round. Sensing the fight was going his opponent’s way, Krasniqi found something in him to turn back the tide. He increased the distance between him and Zoulikha in the second half of the fight. He was also fresher than the Frenchman and he got better and better with each fought round.

As the bout progressed into the final quarter Krasniqi’s advantage became clearly visible. However, he was unable to rock durable Zulikha up until the middle of the twelfth and final stanza. It was when his combinations had finally penetrated Zoulikha’s guard and started to wobble him. After a lengthy barrage of unanswered punches referee Lahcen Oumghar of Netherlands halted the action with just five seconds remaining. Krasniqi retained his WBO European title in a surprisingly thrilling encounter.
