WBO #1 and WBA #7 light heavyweight Dominic Boesel (22-0, 8 KOs), closing in on a world title shot, will return September 17 against an opponent to be named at the Stadthalle in Weissenfels, Germany. Boesel will be defending his WBO and WBA Intercontinental belts. In the co-feature, German welterweight champion Felix Lamm (12-1-1, 5 KOs) will see action. The card was announced this week at a kickoff press conference.
Dominic Boesel: “In the last three years I have matured and grown as a boxer. Boxing again in the vicinity of my hometown Freyburg is great because my fan base has grown enormously in the past three years. Anyone can come who wants to. I’ll take on anyone! I hope soon to get a world title shot!”
SES Trainer Dirk Dzemski: “Dominic has undergone the development that we expected from him. He has enormously increased his physical strength and his technically high-class boxing has expanded! Now we all hope that the biggest challenge, the world title shot, won’t be long in coming!”
SES promoter Ulf Steinforth: “In retrospect, after three-years we can say with pride that “Team Germany” is a great success. When we presented the team three years ago here at this same place, no one could assume that out of the six fighters, three would have titles. Besides Dominic Boesel and Felix Lamm, who both have developed among the finest boxing styles, we have Tom Schwarz, the Youth heavyweight world champion. This is good for German boxing! Here in Weissenfels, we’re holding the ‘Boesel Festival.’ Dominic Boesel has his world ranking at risk and is targeted. And I predict that the arena will be sold out!”
