R.I.P. Norma Nieves (Born October 9, 1956 – Died April 12, 2012)

NORMA NIEVES VEGA

Born October 9, 1956 – Died April 12, 2012

NORMA passed away this morning at 9:15 unable to win the battle against cancer.

Do you remember her smile and her outstretched hands ready to help in any way she could?  If there was a problem, the first name that came to mind, was Norma.  We all knew we could count on Norma.

She graduated from the Sagrado Corazón University, where she specialized in her passion –Art & Photographic Science and Audio Production.

Her extraordinary visual acuity, her sensitivity, her vision and dedication led to constantly look for new ways to define perfection.

But, maybe her most outstanding quality was her humility.  This enabled her to always move forward in acquiring the right image and effect, even if it meant working hours on end.   And despite the accolades received throughout her career, she never once attempted to use them as a crutch to carry her weight.  To her, each day was a new beginning.

Throughout the years she worked with dedication to make each and every WBO Annual Convention, Collector’s Magazine, and WBO Kids Drug Free Program event a special one. She often said that the

beauty of it all was that no one knew all the work done behind the scenes.

During the last event organized by Norma for the Sister Isolina Ferre Centers, Sister Mildred commented on the extraordinary work she had done. I was surprised at the happiness that brought to Norma’s heart!  She said, “And at the end of the day that is all we take…the pleasure of knowing we did good, we gave our best with our hearts, it was received and reciprocated with appreciation”.

These are just a few of the simple things why Norma will always be NORMA to all of us who were lucky to know her.  We, at WBO will cherish her and hold her dear to our hearts forever.  She will never be forgotten!

May She Rest In Peace!

(La velarán a partir de hoy, 13 de abril a las 11:00 am.  Aún no se han puesto de acuerdo la hora del sepelio el sábado.  Esto se informará luego.)
