Palicte and Rodriguez make weight for WBO Asia- Pacific Batam Title bout

Vincent ‘Popeye’ Palicte (14-3-1, 7 KOs) weighed in at 117 ½ lbs while Frederix Rodriguez (8-2-1, 6 KOs) stepped on the scales at 117 lbs during the official weigh-in held today for their twelve round fight for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific bantamweight title.

They will headline a fight card that will be held at the Mandaluyong City Gymnasium on Thursday August 16. The event is promoted by Joven Sports Promotions.

For the supporting bouts, Phil. Jr.welterweight champion Adones Cabalquinto (141 1/2 lbs) will fight Jaypee Ignacio (141 lbs) in a non-title ten rounder, Jerwin Ancajas (115 1/2 lbs) vs. John Paul Bautista (116 lbs) – 10 rounds, Vincent’s brother, Aston Palicte (113 1/2 lbs) vs. Mark Joseph Costa (114 lbs)- 10 rounds.

GMA ‘Buhay Boksingero’ lt. flyweight division winner Joebert Alvarez (110 lbs) will face Albert Alcoy – (113 1/2 lbs) in a 10 round bout for the LuzProBa Flyweight championship, Jerson Luzarito (104 lbs) vs. Marzon Cabilla (105 lbs) – 10 rounds, Michael Dasmarinas (110 1/2 lbs.) vs. Nelson Zabala (110 lbs) -6 rounds, Carleans Rivas (111 lbs) vs Christine Latube (110 lbs) – 6 rounds, Jessebelle Pagaduan (105 1/2 lbs) vs. Lady Love Sampiton (103 lbs) – 4 rounds, Eric Pansa (115 1/2 lbs)vs Michael Bersaga (116 1/2 lbs)- 4 rounds.
