Gallery WBO 27th Gala Dinner

WBO Light Heavyweight Champion, Sergey Kovalev, was recognized last night as the WBO Fighter of the Year at the gala dinner of the 27th Annual WBO Convention. The emotional event at the Caesar’s Palace Resort and Casino in Las Vegas honored former WBO World Champions and International Boxing Hall of Famers Joe Calzaghe and Oscar De La Hoya for their lifetime achievement and loyalty to the WBO.

Also recognized last night were Bob Arum (WBO Promoter of the year), Terence Crawford and Yuriorkis Gamboa (WBO Fight of the Year), Vasyl Lomachenko (Brightest Future), Carolina Duer (WBO Diamond Ring for her 10th successful defense of the title). Also in attendance were, were WBO Jr. Lightweight Champion Orlando Salido, Jr. Welter Champion Chris Algieri, Japanese female world champions Nao Ikehara and Kimiko Seeser Ikeyama, former world champion Ruslan Provodnikov, former world champion James Toney, former women’s world champion, Hanna Gabriels, unbeaten prospect Felix Verdejo, among others. Ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. served as master of ceremonies.
