Former WBO super bantamweight champion and son of a legend Wilfredo “Papito” Vazquez held an open media workout today at former longtime WBO champion Ivan Calderon’s gym in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico in anticipation of Vazquez’ highly anticipated “Road To Redemption” appearance when he returns home to the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida on September 20. Wilfredo “Papito” Vazquez, Jr., (22-3-1, 19 KOs) of Bayamon, Puerto Rico will face undefeated prospect Guillermo “Borrego” Avila (13-0, 8 KOs) of Jamay, Jalisco, Mexico in a bout scheduled for twelve rounds for the World Boxing Organization International super bantamweight title.

Also on the card is Wilfredo Vazquez’ younger son, jr. flyweight Israel “El Heredero” Vazquez (8-0-2, 6 KOs), local prospects Philip Penson, Craig Duncan, Carlos Lacayo, Angel Albelo and the highly anticipated pro debut of Alex “Flash” Roman.
